Gems in the Rough: The Brunswick North Carolina Golf Trail

Filed under: Regional Issues, Travel Info, Web Of Sports @ 1:33 pm

Brunswick Plantation

How does a course so beautiful and captivating continually go unnoticed by the general public?

The Brunswick Golf Trail in North Carolina is truly beautiful. The course spreads majestically along the shoreline of North Carolina. The sounds of seagulls cries, waves crashing and beach breezes accompany the golfer as he or she tries his or her hand at the course. Combined with the luscious grasses, breathtaking bodies of water and tricky bunkers, the course is a difficult one to say the least.

The course is part of a long trail of courses totaling 396 holes of pure, unadulterated fun. Many of the courses are internationally renowned, but still, the trail has not been paid its dues. It is easily one of the best places to spend a weekend with courses ranging from rather effortless holes to some that would be a challenge to even the world’s best golfers.

Along with the wide variety of courses, there are many other opportunities for golfers to enjoy when the links no longer hold their fun. Hotels, pools, and shopping outlets are simple but pleasurable ways for golfers to pass their time when not teeing off.

In addition, the trail is easy to reach from almost all East Coast cities and if the golfer plans on flying in, they can enjoy Myrtle Beach’s quaint airport. The most fascinating part of the trail is its succinctness. All the courses are basically layered on top of each other (although not overlapping too much so as to cause confusion). It is possible to drive from the northernmost tip of the Brunswick Islands to the southernmost part of the trail in less than an hour. This closeness is perfect for the golfer who wants to get in as much golf as possible in one day.

Imagine being able to complete course after course at a relatively low cost in just one day. This task is not for the faint at heart. These courses, although beautiful, are difficult and have known to be a challenge for even the seasoned pros who try a hand at them. Beginners beware: a day spent on the trail could be trying and frustrating. For those who have tried many a golf course, public and private, you will be blown away by the beauty and challenge that these courses muster up.

The final aspect, and always the most annoying is price. That is something that should not even come into question when offered to play these majestic courses but nevertheless, the question always arises: How much will it cost? Well the good news is, many of the courses are public and thus will be a greatly reduced price for even non-members. Especially if you plan on playing in a group, there should be absolutely no problem in paying for these courses. Playing these courses is a steal!

Never again will you want to play desert courses or courses shrouded in trees or your home course. Choosing to play the links on this trail will open your eyes to a level of golf you have never dreamed of.

As the years passed, however, games of chance appeared in the public houses, here individuals could bet on cards and good old bar brawls. Before long basketball, tennis and hockey betting became more and more fashionable everywhere. Before long ordinary folk were able to gamble on local teams and on specific competitions. It’s common for participants to gamble sometimes. Of course this was fantastic for anyone living in heavily populated areas but individuals in a rural environment weren’t blessed with the same number of bookies nearby, at least, not lawfully. People were also limited to gambling on what was occurring locally or on television or radio.

After the birth of the net, all these issues were wiped out immediately. These days, people can sit at their laptop computer and find everything they could ever require to place a bet on any team or person, irrespective of where they are. And do not forget it is possible to make money while doing something you truly enjoy, it is not surprising that net gambling is such a runaway success.
