The Goat House Offer B&B in Laxton
Laxton is a rural village in north Nottinghamshire, going back to the Norman Conquest.
Todays visitors can visit the site of the castle at the edge of the village, and see the best preserved motte and bailey castle in Nottinghamshire.
You can also visit the attractive, and fine looking, St Michael’s church that dates back from the 12th century and is still regularly used to this day.
All the same, what makes Laxton truly unusual is its continued use of the medieval farming system.
The village is the only working open field system in the UK and one can meander the fields yourself or have a tour with a guide, that we can organise if you want.
There is a visitor’s cente in Laxton with lots more information about Laxton and its history.
In the centre of the village is the pub where one can discover superb value, locally sourced food, in addition to amiable villagers who will happily tell you a tale or two.
The Goat House is in the village and dates back over two hundred years.
The Goathouse has just recently been renovated to an award winning standard, we provide excellent value for money b and b with a master bedroom, one twin bedroom and one family bathroom.
